What makes it look written A handwriting font alone reads as a font: identical glyphs, perfectly level, evenly spaced. Four things are added here on top of the typeface. Every character gets a small random offset from its ideal position, so the baseline breathes. Every character gets its own slight rotation around the slant you set, so no two letters lean the same way. Ink opacity varies letter by letter and drifts across a word, imitating the way a pen releases more ink at the start of a stroke than at the end. And spacing between letters wanders a little, which is what stops words from looking stamped.
The controls worth touching Unsteadiness is the master dial: near zero it is a very tidy hand, past seventy it reads as written in a moving car. Slant is the average lean, which is the single most personal feature of a real hand — a negative value gives the left-hander's backslant. Ink flow controls how much the darkness varies; low is a fresh gel pen, high is a fountain pen running dry. Write it again re-rolls every random decision, so if a particular page looks wrong, ask for another one rather than adjusting the sliders.
Pages and export Text is laid out on A4 pages at 150 dpi and flows onto as many pages as it needs; blank lines in your text are kept as blank lines. Download gives you the page you are looking at as a PNG, or all of them one after another. Everything is drawn in your browser — the text is never sent anywhere.
A word on what this is for Legible practice sheets, letters that should feel personal, notes and props for a game or a story, mock-ups where lorem ipsum would look too clean. It imitates handwriting in general, not any specific person's, and it is not a substitute for work someone is expecting you to do by hand.
